Add or manage Tags
Use this guide to create and maintain Tags that support daily operations and architecture navigation in Nodinite.
You will learn how to:
- ✅ Create consistent Tags for business and technical teams
- ✅ Reuse Tags across Log Views, Monitor Views, Articles, and C4 Diagrams
- ✅ Keep Tag governance clean as your Diagram Set and repository content grows
Before You Start
Tags are created and maintained in the central tag management area. Business users can apply existing Tags where they have access, while administrators control lifecycle operations such as restore and permanent delete.
For full administration operations, see Tag Administration Overview.
Create a New Tag
- Open a page where Tags are supported, such as Log Views, Monitor Views, Articles, or C4 Diagrams.
- In the Tags input, type the new Tag name.
- Select the create option when shown.
- Save your change.
Naming Guidance
Use names that are meaningful for business users and stable over time:
- Prefer
FinanceoverFin - Prefer
Order-to-CashoverO2Cunless your teams already standardize abbreviations - Avoid one-off labels that only one person understands
Manage Existing Tags
Use central management to keep Tags reliable across all features:
- Edit a Tag name to improve clarity
- Clear associations when a Tag is no longer needed in current views
- Delete and Restore when cleaning up historical labels
Because the same Tag can appear in Log Views, Monitor Views, Articles, C4 Diagrams, and Diagram Set entries, changes should follow your governance process.
C4 Diagrams and Diagram Set Guidance
When applying Tags to architecture content:
- Use Tags that match operational language from monitoring and logging
- Tag each Diagram Set so users can quickly find complete architecture collections
- Use the same business-domain Tags in diagrams and monitor assets to improve cross-team navigation
