Other Open Source Licenses

Besides the MIT License, Nodinite uses open-source libraries under a handful of other permissive licenses: the Apache License, the Microsoft Public License, the BSD-2-Clause and BSD-3-Clause licenses, and the PostgreSQL License. None of them puts licensing demands on Nodinite or on your custom code. The JMX Monitoring Agent runs on the OpenJDK, which is licensed under the GPL v2 with the Classpath Exception; the exception is what keeps the GPL from applying to the agent (see 3rd party libraries for why we avoid pure GPL software).

Each entry links to the project and, through , to its license. The libraries under the MIT License are on MIT Licensed Libraries.

  • Polly – Used to add resilience and transient-fault-handling support for communications with remote APIs and is used in multiple agents
    • From Nodinite 7.12, Nodinite doesn't reference Polly directly. It comes in as a dependency of Microsoft's resilience packages (Microsoft.Extensions.Resilience / Microsoft.Extensions.Http.Resilience). The Polly Open Source Maintenance Fee applies only to direct references to Polly, and only to the next major version released after November 16, 2026, so it doesn't apply to Nodinite or its customers.
