Edit thresholds modal with the Warning and Error limits in days and the global settings note (7.12)
Example of the Edit thresholds modal.

The Allowed Limit section holds the two limits, as whole days (0–365):

  • ⚠️ Warning - Trigger the Warning alert when fewer than this number of days remain before the Certificate expires
  • ❌ Error - Trigger the Error alert when fewer than this number of days remain before the Certificate expires
  • Description - A user-friendly optional description

Important

The limits are global settings, as the modal's NOTE says: a change affects the Monitoring of all certificates in this Subscription, in every API Management Service, not only the certificate you opened the modal from.

  • A new Subscription configuration starts with Warning 14 and Error 7 days.
  • Keep the Error limit smaller than the Warning limit. With a larger Error limit, a certificate goes to Error before it ever reaches Warning; the modal doesn't check the order.

Click the Save button to persist changes. After Save, the next sync evaluates every certificate in the Subscription against the new limits.

An expired certificate in Error, its details, and the Edit thresholds modal, animated walkthrough (7.12)
Animated walkthrough: an expired certificate in Error ("Certificate has expired"), its Details, and Edit with the Edit thresholds modal. The walkthrough closes the modal without Save, because Save changes the limits for the whole Subscription.
