Roles Overview

The Overview shows all user-defined Application Roles. A user can filter the list and manage configuration by clicking on a Role.

The Roles Overview in the Access Management main menu is where a Nodinite Administrator manages Roles.

Application Roles are used within Log Views and Monitor Views to grant business Roles access to Nodinite. There is a specific article for the 'What is a Role' topic. Make sure to read and understand the basic concepts before continuing.


In the Roles Overview, you have a sortable list of defined Roles. You can narrow An extensive list of Roles by typing characters into the filter text box.

Manage Roles

The available functionalities for Managing Roles are:

Add new Role

Click the "Add Role" button to open the Role editor to create a new Role. Add Button

Edit Role

To Edit an existing Role; Click the link in the Name column or open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Edit" menu item.

Click the 'Edit' menu item to edit an existing Role.

Delete Role

To Delete an existing Role; Open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Delete" menu item.

Click the 'Delete' menu item to delete an existing Role.

Restore deleted Role

To Restore a deleted Role; You must first check the "Show deleted Roles " checkbox.

When checked, the deleted Roles are also presented in the list.

Then open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Restore" menu item.

Click the 'Restore' menu item to Restore a deleted Role.

Export Role

To Export an existing Role; Open the menu from the "Actions" button and click on the "Export" menu item. This will open the Nodinite generic Export wizard.

Click the 'Export' menu item to open the Export Wizard.

Copy API URI

Click to open the "Copy API URI" modal; There, you can get the query string to the Nodinite Web API (RESTful).
