Give every Article the same structure
New 7.11
Decide once what a good runbook or technical Article looks like, and make every Article follow it. A Document Profile is that decision, saved: shared sections that stay identical everywhere, and open sections each writer fills in. Improve the profile later and every Article using it follows — no hunting down old pages.
- ✅ Define your team's structure once, for unlimited Articles
- ✅ Start in minutes from the ready-made Standard Technical Article
- ✅ Change the structure in one place, and see which Articles are affected first
When you need this
You own your team's documentation, and every Article looks different: some have an owner section, some don't, the footer is out of date in half of them.
What you need
- The right to create Document Profiles — ask your administrator to add it to your Role.
- The shared blocks you want on every Article, such as a header or a contact section, saved as Snippets. Nodinite ships with a standard header, footer, copyright, Next Step, and Related Topics Snippet to start from.
Do it
- In the sidebar, under Articles, click Document Profiles, and open Standard Technical Article.
- Click Edit, then Clone. In Duplicate Document Profile, replace the suggested Name with your own, such as Integration Runbook, and click Duplicate.

The suggested name marks the copy and when it was made; change it to something your team recognizes. - Shape the structure:
- Click + Snippet Part for a shared section, and pick the Snippet it shows in Select Snippet.
- Click + Content Part for a section writers fill in, and give it a Section name.
- Drag the rows into the order you want.
- Pick exactly one Content Part as the Main Body, and tick Required on any section writers must fill in.

The structure editor tells you right away if a rule is broken, such as a Snippet Part with no Snippet chosen. - Click Save.
What you'll see
Your new profile in the Document Profiles list, ready for your team: anyone can now click Add Article using this Profile and start writing. Before you change a profile later, check its Usage to see which Articles will follow the change.
If it doesn't work
- Save is refused: two Content Parts are next to each other, a Snippet Part has no Snippet, or no Content Part is the Main Body. The message at the top of the structure tells you which.
- The Snippet you need isn't in the list: create it first in Snippets, then come back.
