Start Application Pool
Start the selected Application Pool.
You will be prompted to confirm the operation.
The Windows Server Monitoring Agent contacts the IIS instance and starts the Application Pool. The result appears on the screen.

Here's an example of a successful start Application Pool operation.
Stop Application Pool
Stop the selected Application Pool.
You will be prompted to confirm the operation.
The Windows Server Monitoring Agent contacts the IIS instance and stops the Application Pool. The result appears on the screen.

Here's an example of a successful stop Application Pool operation.
Warning
Stopping an Application Pool will immediately terminate all applications using it. Active user sessions will be lost.
Recycle Application Pool
Recycle the selected Application Pool to release resources and apply configuration changes.
You will be prompted to confirm the operation.
The Windows Server Monitoring Agent contacts the IIS instance and recycles the Application Pool. The result appears on the screen.

Here's an example of a successful recycle Application Pool operation.
Note
Recycling an Application Pool is less disruptive than stopping/starting. The worker process is gracefully shut down and a new one is started, minimizing downtime.
