Install Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Agent
Unlock seamless monitoring for your MuleSoft Anypoint Platform with the Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Agent. This guide empowers you to install and configure the agent quickly, ensuring robust integration visibility and operational excellence.
PreReq: Download the latest Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Agent and prepare your Windows and Mule Server environments before installation. The service account must have Logon as Service Right. See Prerequisites for Mule ESB Monitoring Agent for details. You must be a local administrator to install Windows Services.
Before you begin
Make sure you comply with the prerequisites.
Step 1: Start the installer
Double-click the MSI file to launch the Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Agent.
Start the installation by running the MSI file.
Depending on your Windows settings, a security warning may appear. Click 'Run' to proceed.
Step 2: Welcome screen
After launching the MSI, you'll see the Welcome screen.

Click 'Next' to continue or 'Cancel' to exit the installer.
Step 3: Accept End User License Agreement
The Licensee is responsible for ensuring Nodinite products are used according to the End User License Agreement. Confirm you have the rights to install and modify the target environment before proceeding.
You must accept the License Agreement to continue.
Step 4: Custom setup
Choose the components to install and set the destination path.
Select components and destination folder.
Note: The default settings are recommended.
Click 'Next' to continue or 'Cancel' to exit.
Step 5: Service Account Information
Enter the credentials for the Account that will run the Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Agent.
Enter credentials:
Domain: Name of the domain or use the server name/dot for local accounts
User: Account name
Password: Account password
Enter the service account credentials.
Click 'Next' to continue or 'Cancel' to exit.
Insufficient Privileges
If the account does not meet the Prerequisites for Mule ESB Monitoring Agent, you will see an error.
Error: Insufficient privileges for the service account.
The most common cause is the account lacking permission to run as a service or not being a local administrator. Follow How to set Logon as a Service right and click retry. If the issue persists, click cancel and restart. Ensure you enter valid credentials!
Tip: Check the local event log for errors (System and Application).
Step 6: Ready to install
Once preparations are complete, click 'Next' to continue or 'Cancel' to exit.

Step 7: Completed setup
The final step shows either a success or a premature exit.

Failed installation example: A failed installation will result in a premature exit.
Nodinite Monitoring Agent - Mule Setup Wizard ended prematurely.
Click Finish to exit the installer.
Step 8: Add Agent as a new Monitoring Agent Configuration
After setup, your default text editor opens a file named 'README.txt' with instructions for adding the agent as a [Monitoring Agent][]. This file is [re]generated on each successful start.
README.txt provides post-installation steps.
Install Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Application
Next, install the Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Application on each Mule ESB server instance to be monitored. Simply place the ZIP file in the apps
directory.
- Download the latest Nodinite Mule ESB Monitoring Application from download.nodinite.com.
Note: Do not use the Mule Management Console for deployment. Drop the ZIP file directly into the
apps
directory.
