Updating the Nodinite Boomi Integrations Monitoring Agent

The Nodinite Boomi Integrations Monitoring agent version 7.2.0 and later uses .NET 10 runtime and follows a monthly update release cycle with security patches, performance improvements, and bug fixes. Keep your agent up to date to maintain support and ensure compatibility with Nodinite Core Services.

Important

.NET 10 Runtime Requirement: Version 7.2.0+ requires .NET 10 Hosting Bundle (IIS) or .NET 10 Runtime (Windows Service). Monthly updates are recommended to maintain security patches. See Prerequisites for installation requirements.

New 7.2.0

Preferred Method: Portal-Based Scripted Update

In Nodinite v7.2.0 and later, updating agents is automated through the Portal-based scripted installation. This modern approach:

Automates agent updates via PowerShell scripts
Updates multiple agents simultaneously with consistent settings
Eliminates manual installations and reduces human error
Centrally manages all environments from the Portal

Important Version 7.2.0 Notes

Breaking Changes: Version 7.2.0 includes the following important changes:
  • .NET 10 Runtime - Requires .NET 10 Hosting Bundle for IIS deployments or .NET 10 Runtime for Windows Service deployments
  • NEW Deployment Option - MSI installer now available for Windows Service deployment on non-Nodinite servers
  • Monthly Updates Required - .NET 10 runtime requires monthly security patches. Plan for regular agent updates.
  • Instant Response on Synchronization - Faster monitoring data retrieval from Boomi AtomSphere API

MSI-Based Windows Service Updates New 7.2.0

If you deployed using the MSI installer for Windows Service:

  1. Download the latest MSI from the Portal
  2. Run the MSI installer - it will detect existing installation and upgrade in place
  3. Service will restart automatically
  4. Verify update by checking service version in Windows Services console

Nodinite version 6 (Manual Update - Legacy)

Warning

Deprecated: The manual update method is legacy and intended only for v6 IIS-hosted installations. This method is not recommended for new deployments and will be retired in future versions.

Important

Version 7.2.0+ Users: If you are updating Boomi Monitoring Agent to v7.2.0 or later, use either the Portal-based update method for IIS deployments or download the MSI installer for Windows Service deployments. The manual update below is for legacy v6 installations only.

Compatibility and versioning issues

Prerequisites for Updating

You must have successfully installed the Nodinite Boomi Integrations Monitoring agent prior to an update.

Step 1: Download

Make sure to download the latest binaries (zip package) from the Nodinite portal.

Step 2: Unzip package

In this step, you will unpack and unblock the files.

Note

Actual folder depend on the user defined installation, make sure to verify the actual folder used.

  1. Unzip the package to installation folder, for example: c:\inetpub\wwwroot\Nodinite\BoomiMonitoring\
  2. Unblock the files
