Which .NET Framework versions are supported?
.NET Framework 2.0 and onwards—including .NET 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2, 4.8, 4.8.1. Log4Net versions: 1.2.10 and onwards (including 1.2.x, 2.0.x). Application types: Windows Services, WCF Services, ASP.NET Web Applications (WebForms, MVC), Console Applications, Windows Forms, WPF Applications. Note: For modern .NET (5.0+, 6.0+, 7.0+, 8.0+, .NET Core 3.1), use [Serilog][] sinks instead (Log4Net support for modern .NET is limited, Serilog is industry standard for .NET 5.0+ structured logging).
