Update MCP Endpoint

Use this page when updating Nodinite environments that host the MCP Endpoint in IIS as part of Core Services.

Update Strategy

Treat MCP Endpoint updates as part of your Core Services update process. Do not run MCP Endpoint as an isolated lifecycle component.

Update Checklist

  • Confirm current MCP Endpoint port allocation in the Nodinite portal and firewall rules for the endpoint
  • Review IIS bindings and certificate assignments if TLS is used
  • Execute the planned Core Services update for the target Nodinite version
  • Re-validate site/application startup and endpoint reachability after update
  • Re-test one external MCP client query after technical validation

Version Transition Notes

Upgrading from lower versions to 7.4.0 or later

Include MCP Endpoint port selection in the Nodinite portal and routing validation in your update plan. This is required to avoid deployment gaps.

Monthly patch updates on 7.4.0+

Keep the same port unless your change plan explicitly includes port migration. Validate bindings after each update.
